I contacted Mr Fabulous in early 2025 to discuss how I could upgrade my Firebird. Not only did Andre take the time to explain how he started, but he also gave me an overview of what I could do and then recommended what I should get based on my description of what I wanted (that’s pretty awesome!). Once installed, these Firebird pickups, it completely changed the sound of my guitar. It sounds awesome, and I have since bought the PAF/Tele pickup set to completely change the sound of my B-Bender – and I am here in this site once again looking at upgrading more of my guitars with hese amazing pick ups!!

Hot Firebird AlNiCo 5 potted in Tele Neck position paired with a hot broadcaster style tele Bride Pickups is pure heaven!
It’s a perfect match in output, give you way more than a tele neck pickup and sounds great in “both pu’s on” position!
I set it a little lower than usual, helps sting pull and still has the treble you need and is in perfect balance with the bridge pickup!

Bought a set of 3 for a Firebird VII that was made in 2023. For a custom shop made model it strangely had the ceramic pickups from the production model in it factory. At any rate, I looked for a winder who could make a closer version to the 60s one. These guys fit the bill. Alnico 2, unpotted, gold.

Got them quickly, arrived as described. Got them installed and wow. These are the real deal. Sound just like a Firebird from the original era. Drive the amp a touch and snarl when you want them too. But delicate sounding and articulate when you need as well. Can’t say enough how pleased I am with my set. Cant recommend these enough.

I put a set in a Gibson Firebird V 2017 model.
I was a bit reluctant to swap out the originals but now I’m glad I did.
These pickups are just what was needed to complete the guitar.
It doesn’t hurt that they are sensibly priced either.

Amazing pickups. Used in Stratocaster.

Throaty and hollow. Beautiful cleans and driven tones.

I put a set of the Trons in an early 80s Japanese Pearl…yes, Pearl Les Paul. My God !!! What a transformation. The Trons changed it from a being a guitar that I rarely felt like playing into an absolute tone monster. Rockabilly bite and bop, bluesy graininess, 60s jangle, oh, and they can rock it…hell, dial back the volume and tone a little and you’ve also got sweet and smoky jazz vibes to spare. The Trons can do it all. Bloody fantastic ! I now plug in and play ‘cos I want to hear how damn fine they sound. I seriously cannot recommend these pickups highly enough. What are you waiting for !? Get thee some Trons !!!

Now I know why they call him Mr. Fabulous.

These pups are AMAZING. I’ve been chasing the tone of my first good guitar forever, a Gibson ES-325 I got 30 years ago and sold during college to pay the rent. That oddball has Firebird pickups in a hollow-body, so I took a shot at recreating it with an Ibanez hollow-body and these pickups.

I would say I finally achieved that tone I’ve been dreaming of, but the truth is, this is better. I will 110% be back for more. Thanks again, Fabian!

I have just built my own Gibson firebird style guitar as a Baritone. OMG the mini humbuckers with this guitar are a match made in sonic heaven. Very Happy. Thank you. Question i purchased the Nickel instead of gold (Dumb move) can i spray the Nickel with gold without detriment to the sound quality of the pickups?

Bought the humbucker and the firebird set. Told Mr Fabulous my sonic influences and he recommended the alnico type.
Both sets are on another level, I mean, Seymour Duncan level or above. Clean or dirty, split or humbucking, these pickups sound amazing.
Once installed, you honestly won’t recognize your guitar. Highly recommended! Franck (Quebec)
