A friend is going to help me to build a left handed Cabronita Tele out of Tasmanian Blackwood and in my search for a Filter Tron pickup I came upon the Mr Fabulous website. In my search I wanted a Humbucker sized Filter Tron so I could initially try it in my Artist Thinline telecaster. Fabian was very helpful in giving me advice, not only about the pickup, but also my build as I will be buying all the parts for him. After the pickups arrived and were initially temporarily installed in my cheap budget Artist guitar I was totally amazed at how good it sounds both normally and when coil tapped. In my research I was a bit concerned that Filter Tron's could sound a bit weak or to trebly. Fabians version is definitely not like that. They are very full sounding and the bridge position is not harsh. The sound is very clear but if you dig in you can get that classic Gretsch like growl and they are also great with distortion. I especially like the neck position that sounds better than any of my other guitars. I thoroughly recommend these pickups that are very reasonably priced which I got in gold.

Just incredible. Fabulous even!
I bought these to go into an Artist guitars baritone. It was just too dark with the stock humbuckers and lacked clarity.
I stayed up into the witching hours completing the install and from the first notes I knew I'd struck magnetic gold!
The neck position was transformed from unusable mud into sweet and smooth musicality while the bridge position gained a spaghetti spank that I didn't even realise I was missing!

The pickups were built to order and engraved with a build date only the day before they were posted!
Fabio has also put more effort into his packaging than many much larger pickup/pedal/gear companies as well, with a neat, branded box and including screws and springs. Such a satisfying package to receive and open. You can really feel the effort and care put into these pups as soon as you get your hands and eyes on them.... very special feeling when compared to opening some pickups from a major manufacturer.

And on top of all this is the value for money! These are my first purchase from Mr. Fab and they absolutely will not be my last. I've already been telling everyone I know who works on their own stuff about Mr. Fabulous and will be recommending them any time I'm suggesting pickups for a friend or someone who's guitar I'm working on.

I tried Trons on my G5655T Gretsch. I have Filtertrons and TV Classics on other guitars so I wanted something a bit different from the Trons.
I’m very happy with the result. a big improvement from Blacktop Broadtrons.
Thanks Mr Fab

For decades I've been experimenting with different pickups trying to find the tones I'm looking for. Conventional humbuckers have always seemed too muddy, compressed, and not bright enough. so when I learned that Filtrerton style pickups are made in a substantially different way, I rolled the dice on the Trons. In a nutshell, I'll never go back to conventional humbuckers. The Trons are much more clear and bright, but in a very smooth way, not harsh at all. Plenty of output to drive whatever pedals you're into. The individual notes are more distinct than regular humbuckers. I switch between series and parallel wiring and both ways they sound great. Fabio knows what he's doing. I wish I'd discovered Filtertron style pickups a few decades ago!

Absolutely unbelievably awesome sound. For half the price of a TV Jones Filtertron or Lollertron you get something much warmer, darker but also bright and sparkly. I have purchased a set for me ES335 and it simply has blown me away. Not to mention the service from Fabio, made up the pickups overnight, dropped my guitar off the next day and Fabio installed them and within 24 hours which was absolutely crazy. Such an awesome experience with the pickups and Fabio himself. Thank you again Fab!! You have definitely retained a customer for additional projects!!!!
