I put them in gibson es-339. Alnico3 underbucker. At first, I felt these pups low power and ex57 classic to be better, but after adjusted the pickup&pole piece height , they demonstrated the true worth. My 339 turned out to be a tele on steroids! I can say so because the middle sound really like that of tele. The muddy tone I hate that 57 has has gone away. Underbuckers are crispy. I want to buy another pups again!

Ubuckers - nickel, potted AlNico 3 bridge, and AN2 bridge, on an upgraded Artist 58Cherry, with vintage 50s wiring. It previously had a pair of 70s Epiphone pups but these were typically over-wound and hard to get the best out them. Now, Fabian’s magical spell is in the UBuckers and this guitar has a new soul! The combo I’m using is well suited to my style and this guitar. Well-balanced tones, touch sensitive and clear even on very low vol settings on the guitar.

I have always loved the sound of the original PAF humbuckers from the early 60"s Gibsons and as a result about two years ago I got Fab to send me one of his Underbuckers for the bridge position on my ES335 after reading the specs. I chose potted with Alinco 2 magnets and 4 wire output si I could use it single coil or humbucking using a pull tone pot. Strangely I almost exclusively use it in single coil mode for my entire gig. It is so sweet and versatile with beautiful top end. Straight into my Vase amp its is awesome. When used with my custom made 12AX7 pre-amp it has a magic sensitivity of breakup related to volume settings. To step up to solo drive I then introduce my modded TS5 and all of a sudden the Underbucker produces the most attractive complimentary overtones and resonances, so sweet, so sweet. Then drop it into humbucking mode and Billy Gibbons, Peter Green or Garry Moore would be jealous. I have been playing professionally for 47 years. This is my favourite pickup ever. I am currently working on acquiring a Les Paul so I can get a set of neck/bridge Underbuckers the same as the one I have. Now that would be heaven. Fab also made some custom pickups for a project guitar I was building for an old mate, They were the same spec as Dimarzio SD except impedance balanced for bridge and neck positions which the DSD are not.. Oh my lord, what a set of superb pickups. You are an awesome scientist and builder, Could not be happier with your products. Keep up the excellent work. Thanks Fab.

Look, I don't really know how to begin this. I owned a 2011 Les Paul Standard, I bought it before I really knew anything about Les Paul's other than I'd always wanted one and in hindsight I bought the wrong thing. It was the modern version with the asymmetric neck, locking tuners etc, and it just sounded like Nickelback. Nothing wrong with that, it just was that I was after the more classic 67 LP sound, Peter Green, Jimmy Page, Clapton etc. I had toyed with selling it and using the cash to buy another Les Paul, but then the other guitarist in my band suggested Mr Fabulous and ermergerd! I am so glad he did. I put a set of these underwounds in my LP and F*CK me, from a guitar that I used to at best tolerate playing in comparison to my other guitars, it is now a guitar that pulls me back to play it and then when I do play it, it just makes me play better.

I wanted a 335 gibson but could not spend 3 thousand dollars. I hunted around for ages and eventually found a cheap Chinese copy that was very well made with a beautiful neck. II then spoke to Mr Fab and after discussing a few options went for these underbuckers in the Alcino 2 category. The result is truly inspirational (thats what a good guitar does I've decided...it inspires!)These pickups have superb cleans and maintain integrity right through the tone and volume range. They are woody warm and deep but clear. They react beautifully to gain rises and my pedals...I have bought many pickups from big American brands, all were great but way more expensive. I love buying Australian, Fabian wants you to be satisfied and will talk you through what it is you are looking for. I have 3 guitars that are my keepers that now have his pickups in...the rewards are triple the price and effort of the investment.

These humbuckers sound like single coils on steroids. I can play on open E chord on the neck pickup and it's not muddy, play higher up the neck on the bridge pickup and there's not too much treble. I can have the tone pot all the way up or rolled off & they still sound good. I can't say the same about a lot of other pickups I've tried. I would recommend them to pair with single coils like a HSS Strat or to replace a Tele neck pickup. Of course they work good as a set in a HH guitar as they were intended. You have to be aware they're low output but gain can be added in many ways where clarity can't. I will be a return customer. Fab is a first class pickup winder and sent the items within a couple of weeks of payment. The product exceeded my expectations and the price can't be beat.
